Irakleia – Schoinousa – Ano Koufonisi

Embark on an unforgettable full-day island hopping cruise starting from the breathtaking island of Santorini. As the sun rises, casting a golden hue over the caldera, you are ready to explore the hidden gems of the Aegean Sea. This journey will take you to three of the most enchanting islands in the Cyclades: Irakleia, Schoinousa, and Ano Koufonisi. Each island boasts its own unique charm, from serene beaches and crystal-clear waters to picturesque villages and rich cultural heritage. Whether you’re a history enthusiast, a nature lover, or simply looking to unwind, this cruise promises an unparalleled experience of the Greek islands.

Irakleia

Irakleia, the smallest inhabited island of the Cyclades, is a tranquil paradise. Known for its unspoiled beauty, the island offers pristine beaches, clear waters, and lush landscapes. The main village, Panagia, is a charming cluster of whitewashed houses and narrow alleys. Here, you can visit the Church of Panagia and the ancient cave of Agios Ioannis, which features stunning stalactites and stalagmites. The island is perfect for hiking, with trails leading to ancient ruins and secluded beaches like Alimia and Livadi.

Schoinousa

A short sail away lies Schoinousa, a small island renowned for its traditional Greek atmosphere. With only three villages—Chora, Messaria, and Mersini—Schoinousa offers an intimate experience. Chora, the main village, is a labyrinth of whitewashed houses, blue-domed churches, and vibrant bougainvillea. The island’s coastline is dotted with secluded coves and sandy beaches such as Tsigouri, Livadi, and Psili Ammos. Schoinousa is also known for its delicious local cuisine, including fresh seafood and traditional Greek dishes.

Ano Koufonisi

The final stop is Ano Koufonisi, a paradise for beach lovers. Despite its small size, this island is famous for its stunning beaches with turquoise waters, such as Pori, Italida, and Fanos. The main village, Chora, is a postcard-perfect settlement with whitewashed buildings and narrow streets lined with tavernas and shops. Ano Koufonisi also offers a lively atmosphere with beach bars and cafes where you can relax and soak in the island vibe. For those interested in exploring further, a short boat trip can take you to Kato Koufonisi, an even more secluded island with pristine beaches.

Your adventure begins at the port of Santorini, where you’ll board a comfortable and spacious speed boat. As you leave behind the iconic caldera and the cliffs of Santorini, enjoy a leisurely breakfast on deck. The sea breeze and the gentle rocking of the boat set the perfect mood for a day of exploration and relaxation.Upon arriving at Irakleia, you will enjoy swimming in Alimnia where you may see the remains of a World War II aircraft.

Next, sail to Schoinousa, where you’ll have time  for half an hour at LIvadi in the south part of the island. The area beneath the trees offers some shallow waters. It is duly protected on both sides by capes. Finally, arrive at Ano Koufonisi, where the inviting waters beckon you for a refreshing swim. You will have 4 hours to discover the treasures of the island, the transparent and crystal turquoise water and an immaculate scenery.
